LTEN Announces Its 2020 Excellence Award Finalists – Our Streak Continues, Scrimmage Receives Two Nods For Partnership And Innovation
Minneapolis, MN – The finalists for the 6th Annual LTEN [Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network] Excellence Awards have been announced with Scrimmage, once again, receiving an astounding two nods in the Partnership and Innovation categories. The awards recognize the successes of global life sciences training professionals at primary market companies (“practitioners”) and by training supplier companies (“providers”).
The awards are presented and sponsored by the Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (LTEN), the world’s largest professional association of life sciences trainers and educators. A vast panel of respected industry professionals served as judges for the seven highly-competitive categories.
In the Partnership category, Scrimmage is recognized alongside the US Commercial Training & Development (CT&D) team at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The CT&D team, along with leaders across the organization, wanted to leverage the latest learning technologies for 1200+ sales personnel throughout its four distinct business areas. To date, they had been utilizing in-person trainings and a legacy intranet that was not conducive to remote sales teams. Meanwhile, training was pivotal for its current therapies, indications and blockbuster drug, as well as an aggressive pipeline in FDA trials. In partnership with Scrimmage to quickly meet its new training needs, a comprehensive, personalized mobile learning platform was built to create a sales training journey – from anywhere. A cost savings of 75% for the company was soon realized. Learner engagement is consistent at 92%. Revenues have further shown significant sales growth, especially for its lead drug.
On the Innovation side, Scrimmage is being recognized for developing a one-stop-shop custom mobile learning application to establish a continuous learning culture for AstraZeneca’s US Oncology Training & Development (OTD) Department. This team supports 1,600+ sales personnel, as well as hundreds of additional learners in other groups with crossover indications. Cost savings topped $2M. Learner engagement hit 98%. Reps were sales-ready in 60% less time. Also, a new leadership development program for field sales grew out of the practice. And, by Q3’19, sales growth for Oncology was up 54% YTD – a clear correlation to the new learning solution.
“These two recognitions - Innovation and Partnership - truly represent the core of Scrimmage,” notes CEO, Derek Lundsten. “In addition, to being recognized in both of these categories for the third year in a row, they only reinforce our team’s on-going commitment to our clients, as well as our diligence to continually bring best-in-class capabilities in the learning technologies space to the life sciences industry.”
With this announcement, Scrimmage has now been Finalists in the Innovation category 5x - and every year since 2016 - winning it twice. And, since its inception three years ago, we are humbled to have been Finalists each year in the Industry Partnership category, directly recognizing our clients' (and their learners') success(es) with our training platform.
As its 49th Annual Conference will shift to a virtual event, the LTEN Excellence Award winners will be announced on June 9th during the #LTENConnect program [https://www.ltenconnect.com].
“While we won’t be gathering for the live LTEN Annual Conference this year, we’re still committed to recognizing and honoring the LTEN members and training industry leaders who so richly deserve it," said Dawn Brehm, Executive Director of LTEN.
