Scrimmage & Its Partner, Smith & Nephew, Win Prestigious 2018 Chief Learning Officer Award
Minneapolis, MN – Chief Learning Officer magazine, a publication of Human Capital Media, has announced the winners of its 2018 Learning In Practice Awards with Scrimmage being the recipient of a prestigious Silver Award in the Excellence in eLearning category on the Provider side. Winners were recognized during a special awards reception on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Fall CLO Symposium in Houston, Texas.
Established in 2003, the Learning In Practice Awards recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs.
“The Learning In Practice awards are a benchmark for enterprise learning and development,” said Ashley St. John, managing editor at Human Capital Media. “There was a competitive set of nominations this year, and the group of winners are among the best of the best in the L&D space.”
This eLearning award is in recognition of Scrimmage’s client, Smith & Nephew, and the successful implementation of a broad mobile technology solution to launch an entirely new learning practice. The mPOA (mobile Point of Access) program came out of “a mission to keep reps in the field rather than in the classroom, and leverage digital platforms to equip them with the knowledge and skills to grow their business,” noted Kaleb Sunwall, Vice President, US Training and Education. “Mobile learning has allowed us to return valuable selling time to our sales reps and managers, reduce the cost of live training, and make a measurable impact on performance.”
A vigorous and diverse 12-week training program supported the various learning styles compatible to its remote sales team, including the mobile delivery of content, gamification, videos, podcasts, and more. It resulted in proven knowledge retention and a double-digit increase in prospective revenues. The model has since expanded to other areas in the organization and, as requested by the sales reps, been a recurring program for this original segment of learners.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the Scrimmage team and its unwavering focus to support our clients’ needs with new cutting-edge pathways to success,” stated Derek Lundsten, Chief Executive Officer. “Further, this recognition is humbling considering the breadth of nominations. We are equally grateful to the visionary team at Smith & Nephew for being an incredible partner and always pushing the boundaries to create such distinct practices.”
All winners are featured in the December 2018 issue of the Chief Learning Officer magazine.
