Terumo Interventional Systems successfully rolls out Gamification Platform.
Terumo Intervential Systems has worked with Scrimmage in utilizing its learning and training platform, as a content vehicle for its sales reps to obtain vital knowledge on several products, including its new releases.
Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS), a division of Terumo Medical Corporation, is a leading medical device manufacturer. Since 2013, TIS has worked with Scrimmage in utilizing its learning and training platform, as a content vehicle for its sales reps to obtain vital knowledge on several products, including its new releases.
In June 2015, at the National Sales Meeting, TIS announced the expansion of its SaaS technology base with Scrimmage to also include the gamification application, Queue. The Meeting comprised of 200 participants + key executive-level management to roll-out Queue, in coordination with other company-wide sales strategies and initiatives.
new product training utilized Queue and its various capabilities,
including assorted question types, leaderboards, badges, quizzes and
assessments. Over the five-day meeting, participants experienced new
questions to coordinate with and reinforce the previous day’s topics.
Further, “duals” between 2 (random) players were implemented with each
participant having to win at least one dual per day via his or her
mobile device. Meanwhile, Queue became such a popular aspect of the
meetings that various “dual” winners were called on stage to participate
in live competitions, with winners receiving additional points towards
the overall tally.
Ultimately, there were over
1,400 games played throughout the meeting via various mobile devices. The sales reps were able to
master their new material, pass their (new) certification training and
create camaraderie amongst the team through the adoption of Queue. Moreover, it was a surprise to management that it created such a team-building dynamic.
As Lisa Steenstra, Training & Education Specialist, noted, “the managers truly valued the real-time dashboards and report summaries; they were amazed by the depth of information instantly available at their fingertips. In fact, everyone was quite impressed with the mobile technology and platform, as well as with Scrimmage’s on-site care and attention.”
Queue remains a hit. It has been widely-adopted within the organization by both managers and sales personnel for its knowledge acquisition, reinforcement and reporting capabilities, as well as its fun, competitive spirit.
